Land Registration in sight ... finally

After a long 17-months wait, our land has been registered and we can now embark on the arduous journey of choosing and selecting fixtures and fittings for the new home. We have accepted a fixed-price tender from Casaview Homes, which is a major builder in this estate, building various different types and size of dwellings in Village Square. Our experience with Casaview so far has been outstanding - staff members are knowledgeable and easily contactable. Their price isn't the cheapest but the exhaustive inclusions and especially those above industry standards are noteworthy.

Village Square at Edmondson Park is currently being developed by Crownland Development Pty Limited. We purchased our land, off the plan, in June 2012 but the development of this estate has been very slow. We’ve been advised that registration could take place in October. On a positive note, the delay has enabled us to shop around for a good builder and a plan that suits our requirements and budget.

This estate has ten designated builders – Casaview Homes, Allcastle Homes, Lily Homes, Firstyle Homes, Bellmarch Homes, Blue Tongue Homes, CSB Homes, Jandson Homes, Vogue Homes and Practical Building. No other builders are permitted to build here. Some of the designated builders are newcomers and do not have functional website to allow much research. Casaview and Allcastle, our short-listed builders, have great website with great functionality - downloadable floor plans and other essential details. Casaview website, in particular, lists the comprehensive standard inclusion, details of upgrade packages and the base price. Firstyle and Lily Homes also have functional websites.

The delay in land registration has allowed us to flag homes being built by these builders around Edmondson Park and Prestons area and make personal contact with the new owners. Most owners consulted were forthcoming with their advice on the builders. Product review website is another essential tool during initial research as it contains reviews from previous clients of these builders and this has been one of the factors that has influenced our decision, however this website should not be the sole basis for any decision.
